Rate the Dress: Sally Pressman

I am so glad to have found a celebrity wedding dress that I actually like!  I know very little about either actor, but when I came across Sally Pressman's dress from her marriage to David Rogers in September last year, I wanted to leap up and shout! What a gorgeous and simple creation! I wish I could have found a better picture but, alas, my search has left me fruitless... I am not usually a fan of a layered or scalloped skirt, but this just works so well, and the bodice is exquisite!

Newsday: Branching Out

I know I missed yesterday's blog posting, but for very good reason! I'm so excited to share the news that we have officially added Matric Dance co-ordination and design to our repertoire! I have been hired by a local private school in Kempton Park to co-ordinate their function, as well as design decor and stationery for the event.  Our meeting yesterday was very successful and I so look forward to working with Pamela and Nadia of Shangri-La to make this a night the Matrics and their teachers will never forget!

I will keep up to date with news about this event as it happens, but right now all I have to say is - I can't wait to get started! :)

{Inspiration} The Colours in a Sunrise

High above the world I sit and I watch.
The dark blue velvet sky turns pale as the morning sun shows her proud face.
The yellow moon hangs in pale blues
And pinks and purples,
And slowly sets its weary head down to rest after a long, sleepless night.
In the distance lights flicker on and off,
And on again.
Lovers stir in their beds
And birds begin to chirp, singing out a morning song.
The pinks and purples fade away and the sky reveals her crystal clarity,
Like a sapphire expanding across the heavens.
The sun's golden rays dart across the sky, warming the earth.
Dreams fade to memory and the world slowly sits up.
A new day has begun.

Rate the Dress: Twi-hard Flop

Now I am by no means a fan of the Twilight movies, a lot of teenage melodramatic drivel if you ask me, but even I was curious about the wedding dress Bella would wear in Breaking Dawn.  If these were Anne Rice's vampires I might have been able to bet on what it might look like but, alas, they are not, so I kept my money and my thoughts to myself.  Having now seen the dress though, I must confess, I am somewhat disappointed.  While I'm sure that many will flock to buy a replica of this sad effort - at $799, mind you - I can't believe that it is a true reflection of the beauty of the gown, but rather the popularity of the movies.

{Trend} Braids

If you ever thought that braids should be left at school, think again!  These simply elegant styles are back in a big way, and brides are loving them!  Whether it be a simple milkmaid braid, a casually messy, low-slung knot or a regal French braid, you'll be seeing them everywhere this wedding season.  And why not?  With so many ways to wear them, you'll never run out of ways to customise them to your personal taste and style.  Adorned with flowers or pretty clips, this style becomes the perfect style for brides and bridesmaids alike!  Or wear it unadorned for a simpler style to compliment a country wedding.  The options are endless!

Below are a few pictures I pirated from SA Wedding Guide for your enjoyment!
