My First Restaurant Review {30 Day Challenge}

{A photo of your favourite place to eat}

When it comes to fine dining, I admittedly enjoy the high life. When Rod and I met, I was a simple girl from Kempton Park. But, thanks to Rod, over the years I have been lucky enough to have tried some of the best restaurants in Johannesburg, and have discovered that lingering beneath the rough exterior of this girl was a foodie waiting to get out! When Rod first took me to Coachman's Inn, I was blown away! The food was perfect - the best Duck L'Orange I have ever tasted - the ambience intimate but not stifling, and the interior so beautiful I wanted to weep! This old Tudor style house has everything within its walls to charm the socks off even the toughest critic!

Established in 1980 as a French cuisine restaurant, Coachman's Inn in Johannesburg has certainly stood the test of time! And if you ask anyone who has ever been blessed enough to dine at this exquisite establishment, it's no wonder. Boasting the same ownership since its conception, this gorgeous restaurant serves up the best meals in Joburg with style. On your average night you can expect a visit from the owner himself to deliver their daily specials, and an expertly prepared meal beautifully presented in the true French tradition. The wine list is thoughtfully composed, and if you're spoiled for choice, ask your waiter for their advice. If your desire is for a little more privacy, you can book out their private dining room upstairs and enjoy a romantic evening for two. And if Eton Mess is on the specials menu, it's the perfect way to round off a superb meal.

However, don't misunderstand - this is no stiff upper lip establishment. Relax and relish your meal, laugh and joke, enjoy a good conversation. This restaurant offers no airs and graces, simply good food and that personal touch that so many places of its ilk lack nowadays. It is more than just a restaurant, it is truly an experience!

Until tomorrow!
Peace and Love!
